nematop® weevil Stop contains nematodes of the species Steinernema carpocapsae in a wooden trap for the biological control of adult black vine weevils. The Beetle Stop trap is produced in cooperation with the Lebenshilfewerk Plön workshop for the disabled.

Mode of action

nematop® Beetle Stop is a trap for the control of adult weevils. It consists of a wooden board with grooves, in the grooves there is a gel with nematodes. The beetles are nocturnal and crawl into the grooves when they are looking for a protected place for the day. During their stay, the SC nematodes penetrate the beetles, where they secrete a bacterium that kills the beetles. After about two weeks, the number of thickmouth weevils is reduced by 80 - 100 %.

Application

Remove the foil and simply place the trap board filled with nematode gel under the infested plants with the openings of the grooves facing downwards.
Depending on the infestation, one trapping board is sufficient for up to 10 m2 or 5 running meters for hedges.
The nematodes are active for 6 weeks after laying out the trapping board.
In case of heavy infestation, replace the trapping board after 6 weeks.
