2nd BIOCOMES annual meeting

Research & Development

The second BIOCOMES annual meeting took place at e-nema from the 4th till the 6th of November 2015. BIOCOMES is supported by the EU with nine million Euro for the development of eleven new products against plant-damaging insects and fungal diseases.

2nd Biocomes Anual Meeting

At the meeting, 68 members from 16 different countries took part, including representatives of twelve small and medium enterprises as well as a large chemical company. In BIOCOMES project biological solutions are sought against plant pests,  for example solutions against caterpillars in forest, cabbage, tomatoes and potatoes or against powdery mildew in cereals, the Verticillium wilt in rape and cabbage and other plant pathogens.

Priorities for e-nema research are:

  • optimization of downstream processing of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora
  • breeding of nematode lines with improved storage potential and persistence in the soil

Thank you to all for the great exchange!
