A new generation of Scientists
"INTERFUTURE" is an EU project entitled as “From microbial interactions to new-concept biopesticides and biofertilizers” with the aim of training a new generation of scientists with complementary and interdisciplinary skills in Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Organic Chemistry, and Molecular Biology.
In this project, 11 early-stage researchers were recruited. One of them is Dr. Muhammad Aammar Tufail. Muhammad was firstly enrolled at the University of Trento as a PhD student where he spent the first 18 months of his PhD. His research in Italy was aimed at designing new screening and delivery strategies for bacterial bio-stimulants.
In March 2019 he joined the e-nema research team. His work at our company was framed within the INTERFUTURE project. The aim of his work was to improve maize plant growth promotion using stress tolerant nitrogen fixing bacteria. He conducted several in-vitro and growth room trials to test the efficacy of seed inoculation on maize plant growth promotion under drought and low nitrogen stress.
In May 2021 he successfully completed the final requirements of the PhD program by defending his dissertation and was granted the title of “Ph.D in Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering” cum laude along with an additional title of “Doctor Europaeus”.
We congratulate very much!
