APPLICATION OF NEMAMAX®
nemamax® is effective at lower temperatures than other Heterorhabditis species and should therefore be applied from February to May and from September to November. Soil temperatures should be above 8°C for several hours a day.
nemamax® can be applied using conventional spraying equipment, as a drench, by dipping or through drip irrigation.
Apply 250,000 nematodes per m2 for soil, 5,000 nematodes per liter of substrate for container cultures and 15,000 nematodes per plant for strawberries.
MODE OF ACTION
The nematodes enter the larva through natural body openings and invade the insect body cavity. They release symbiotic bacteria that multiply and kill the larva. While feeding on the bacteria, the nematodes reproduce. After two weeks, thousands of new nematodes emerge and search for further prey. This creates a lasting effect of the nematodes in the soil.
nemamax® controls the larvae and pupae of vine weevils (Otiorhynchus sulcatus, O. armadillo,
O. dieckmanni, O. rugosostriatus, O. salicicola, O. smierczkii, O. ovatus) in nurseries and soft fruit farms, as well as the larvae of pine weevils (Hylobius abietis) in forestry.

EFFICACY OF NEMAMAX®
nemamax® has demonstrated excellent results in field trials. It provides better results against black vine weevil than other Heterorhabditis species in the temperature range from 6-12°C and better results than Steinernema species in the temperature range from 12-30°C.
nemamax® provides excellent control against the black vine weevil Otiorhynchus sulcatus but is particularly suited to controlling other emerging pest species in the genus Otiorhynchus, like
O. armadillo, O. salicicola and O. dieckmanni.
nemamax® is compatible with most chemical plant protection compounds, fertilizers and other beneficial insects.
