Mode of action of nemaplus® Depot

The alginate capsules are inserted into the plant soil. There, the capsules dissolve over time or are eaten by the pest larvae. This releases the nematodes of the species Steinernema feltiae. The nematodes penetrate the larvae of the fungus gnat larvae and secrete a bacterium there that kills the larvae. Inside the larvae, the nematodes multiply and infect more larvae. This process is repeated until the nematodes find no more hosts or all larvae are killed. The SF nematodes are specialized on the larvae of fungus gnats and are completely harmless to humans and pets.

Application of nemaplus® Depot

nemaplus® Depot can be used all year round as long as the soil temperature does not fall below 8°C. The soil or substrate should be moist when applied and kept moist for four weeks, but not dripping wet.

One package of 200 capsules is enough for 20 pots with 12cm diameter or 8 pots with 20 cm diameter.The effect starts after 1 week and lasts at least 4 weeks. After that, repeat the application if necessary.

Tip: Especially when repotting with new potting soil, it can happen that this is already preloaded with fungus gnat eggs. The preventive use of nemaplus® Depot can ensure that the potential larvae are controlled early, before the mosquitoes appear.
Application of the capsules
