Biocontrol in the starting blocks

In response to a request from IBMA (International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association), 26 member companies submitted their plans for the development of biocontrol products over the next 5 years.

The survey showed that already this small subsector of the Biocontrol industry has the potential to cover nearly  20% of the EU's agricultural area. When the potential of the remaining member companies is additionally considered, it becomes clear that Biocontrol is ready and available for agriculture, provided that registration procedures are expedited.

The previous week, this information was presented to the EU Commission. They will prepare a report for the Council of Ministers containing this revealing data.
